Lexus CT200h 50W CREE H11 LED Fog Light Replacement

Ever since the release of our 50W CREE high power LED replacement bulbs, they have been used on a variety of cars that are looking for the most light output from an LED bulb. The extra components that have to be installed when getting HID or LED conversion kits makes them less desirable to some so they turn to replacement LED bulbs instead. These types of lights are not as bright as the conversion kits, but they still do a great job of producing an enormous amount of light from the bulb. This 50W CREE H11 LED bulb is the answer for this situation.

Each H11 CREE LED fog light bulb has ten individual LED diodes made by CREE; the chips used are the R4 XP-E series which are one of the brightest in the market today. There are eight on the side and two on the top underneath a magnifying optical lens projector which produces a lot of projection for visibility. The lights operate at 10W for a bright, yet reliable output capacity; these are rated to work up to 50W, but there will be heat issues associated with that. The unique design of the lights allow the light to project the light as well as provide a 360 degree output of shine which fills up the light housing very well.

Because these LED bulbs operate at 10W, they are ideal for usage as fog lights and daytime running lights. They are bright enough to be seen by other motorists, but not to the point where they can be used as primary driving lights. These particular 50W CREE H11 LED bulbs on this 2012 Lexus CT200H required no additional components for using it inside the fog lights, but using them inside daytime running lights may require decoders/resistors. European vehicles will also need the same type of resistor/decoder setup as well due to the error message system in place.

Lexus GS350 with JDM Golden Yellow 9005 LED Daytime Lights

The factory daytime running light on most vehicles is a standard incandescent halogen bulb which produces a dull yellow color. For most people, they would like to get rid of this light and replace it with a whiter bulb so it matches with their other aftermarket lights such as the parking lights or headlights. However, some may opt to run a deeper and richer color yellow bulb such as these LED 9005 bulbs mimicking the early 2000s style of “JDM yellow”. Thankfully, we have a solution for both the white and yellow colors.

The Lexus GS350 of this generation requires LED canbus decoders to be installed along with the JDM Yellow 9005 LED bulbs to prevent issues such as flickering and error messages. This is included automatically when purchased as our DRL kit. Each DRL kit comes with two 68-SMD 9005 LED high beam daytime lights which are available in either Yellow, Blue, or White; in this article we are showing the Yellow color. The golden yellow color that these bulbs have is perfect for the automotive enthusiast who wants a deeper and richer color version of their factory bulbs and also a bit brighter during DRL mode. However, like all our LED DRL replacement bulbs, the high beam output is greatly reduced so it is recommended for DRL usage only.

50W 9005 CREE LED Daytime Running Light Bulbs on Lexus ES350

The 2007 and up Lexus ES350 uses 9005 sized bulbs for the daytime running lights and it is quite obvious to see the benefits to upgrade to LED lights. The factory incandescent halogen bulbs provide a dull, yellow color that is nothing special or noticeable. The 9005 LED bulbs that this ES350 has installed turn that around by providing a more crisp and stylish HID-like color that is sure to draw attention driving down the road.

These LED bulbs use ten 5W high power CREE Q5 XP-E LED diodes per bulb and all operate together for a combined output of 10W. Since there are eight CREE LED diodes on the side, it provides the 360 degree shine to fill up the housing while the two on the top project light outwards thanks to the magnifying optical lens. The lights are also rated at 6000K so they are our classic Xenon White color so it would go great with our other Xenon White lights. Keep in mind that even though these high output bulbs are very bright, they are not intended to be used for high beam lights at night. Your high beams will still operate, but they will not provide you the same amount of light output as they once did; these are more for aesthetic purposes only.

These lights would not work by themselves so they require our Lexus R4 setup which includes a pair of canbus decoders to prevent issues such as flickering and error messages. Using the 9005 CREE LED high beam and daytime running light bulbs by themselves may cause issues such as partial light up, flickering, and errors. The setup is completely plug and play so it requires no modification of the wiring and is very easy to install, but make sure you follow the instruction guide that comes with the kit so you install it properly.

LED Bumper Reflectors for the 2006-2013 Lexus IS Models

LED bumper reflector lights are a simple to install and wire modification that increases visibility at night and also improves the look of the vehicle. Our customer opted to install these LED bumper reflector lights on his car and wire them up to be additional running lights as well as functional brake lights; these Lexus LED bumper reflectors are wired directly to the tail lamp assembly.

The Lexus LED bumper reflectors we offer are sold as a set of two and is only available in the red lens as of right now. These bumper reflectors will fit the 2006-2013 Lexus IS250 and 350 models, but excludes the IS-F and IS-C. These replace the factory bumper reflector with our LED replacement assembly and are wired directly to the factory tail lamp wires.

The Lexus IS bumper reflector lights we offer have two functions available: Running light mode and Stop light mode which can be wired depending on how you would like the lights to function. Most people prefer to run both functions, but for those who just want those to act as brake lights can just utilize the stop light mode wire and leave the running light wire disconnected. This type of install only takes a few hours of your time to do so it is the perfect weekend project for any DIY-er.

iJDMTOY 9005 LED Daytime Running Light Kit for a Lexus IS-F

The Lexus IS-F is equipped with standard daytime running lights from factory just like the previous IS models. Before the LED daytime running light bar was made standard, it utilized the high beam bulb at a lower output to use as the daytime running lights. The daytime running lights for these cars operate at roughly 6-8v which is about half power of the high beams. Unfortunately, the factory incandescent LED bulbs are a generic yellow color and do not look right on a luxury sports car like the IS-F. We have an LED DRL kit for this car and other similar Lexus vehicles that transforms the yellow into a modern HID-like color.

Replacing just only the daytime running lights with an LED bulb will result in issues such as error messages; this is why we have included a pair of can-bus decoders with our kit. These can-bus LED decoders connect directly to the factory harness and does not require modifications to install; the factory dust cap will have to be removed from behind the daytime running lights though, but that will not create any problems.

Our LED DRL Replacement Kit is available in either our classic 6000K Xenon White or exotic 20,000K Ultra Blue; we recommend Xenon White due to its popularity and acceptance as a replacement light color. Ultra Blue is available, but we do warn that the color may be too exotic and may attract attention from law enforcement. Each bulb has 68-SMD LED diodes on it and produces enough light allow the car to be safely seen during the day. However, due to the design of LED lights and their low wattage output, these lights would not be suitable for use as high beams; these are an aesthetic upgrade for the daytime running lights.
