The recent aesthetic feature of most of the newer vehicles being released to the public are the LED daytime running lights which are lit up as a white light. LED lights offer a variety of advantages over standard incandescent lights such as: more efficiency in converting power into light, less power consumption, and a much more appealing color of light and many more! However, not every vehicle has this luxury of a factory installed LED daytime running light so for the vehicles that came with incandescent lights for the DRLs; we have a solution available which is our LED replacement bulbs.

Installed on this Subaru Impreza WRX is our 68-SMD 9005 LED replacement bulbs which are a direct replacement to the factory bulbs and do not require any type of modification or additional components. These simple to install bulbs change the color from a dull yellow to a unique 6000K Xenon White color that will closely match aftermarket 6000-8000K color HID kits.

Since the high beams are also the same bulb as the daytime running light, some of you may wonder if the high beam function will still work and the answer is yes; although we do recommend only replacing these lights for their aesthetic qualities rather than the actual output at night during high beam mode.

Brand new Chevy Cruze Exact Fit 10w LED Daytime Running Lights

If you haven’t noticed already, many of the newer European vehicles are coming out of the dealership with factory installed LED daytime running light bars either on the headlight or where the fog lights would be. This innovative design is taking over the OEM (Original equipment manufacturer) world by storm; you see these types of lights on all the newer Honda, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, and many other manufacturers! Unfortunately, not every car manufacturer has jumped on board this design train just yet, but we have a solution for those car manufacturers; introducing our new 10w Exact Fit LED Daytime Running Lights (styled after the Mercedes-Benz W204 C-Class) for the 2011 and up Chevy Cruze.

This entire assembly is exact fit and will replace the lower fog light area of the Chevy Cruze without having to modify anything; simply clip off the original piece and replace with ours. Each lamp contains five (5) individual high power LED chips that produce 5w each, providing a total of 10w per lamp producing a 6000K Xenon White color. These will be noticeable during the day and night and will give your new Chevy Cruze that updated European look. The installation is also very straight forward, simply connect the two wires (positive and negative) to any power source you want the lights to turn on with such as your existing fog light wiring or any other 12v power source.

68-SMD 9005 LED Daytime Running Lights on a 2013 Mazda CX-5

With a lot of the newer vehicles out on the road today, most or all of them come from factory with standard daytime running lights as a safety feature. Since most vehicles come like this as a standard feature, they are all mostly the same type of light as well which does not make your car stand out at all. This is where our LED lights come into play, they are rated at 6000K Xenon White so they provide an HID-like color that is sure to turn heads.

Since this particular Mazda CX-5 did not come with factory HID/Xenon headlamps, it must use a special wiring harness and resistor setup along with the LED bulbs to ensure a properly functioning light without error messages and flickering. The entire kit is plug and play and requires no modification to the stock wiring, all it needs is a safe location to mount the load resistor as it does get quite hot when the light are operating. Each LED bulb contains 68-SMD LED chips and produces 5w per bulb that produces a noticeable glow when on.

Although the daytime running lights are not running when the primary headlights are on, they are still a great addition to have on the vehicle as they will be a close match with most aftermarket 6000K HID lights. The daytime running lights for this vehicle also double as the high beams, but due to the way LED bulbs are designed, they will not produce the same amount of light to be safely used at night; this is an aesthetic upgrade only and its main purpose is to provide an HID-like color for the daytime running lights during the day to provide a unique look to your car.

15w 9005 LED Daytime Running Lights on a 2012 Acura TL

For majority of the cars you see on the road, you will notice that during the day the daytime running lights are a dull and unattractive yellow color which blends into the other vehicles on the road that share the same light. The lights are completely plug and play and require no modification to the factory parts, all it needs is a location to mount the fan/ballast/driver assembly just like mounting an HID ballast. 2013 Lexus GS350 with Stunning H11 LED Fog Lights

We know the pictures are kind of blurry, but you can clearly see how bright these LED bulbs are, compared to the stock DRL and stock HID headlights.

You don’t have to be automotive guru to change the ugly yellowish stock fog lights and upgrade to Lexus LED Fog Lights. You can do it simply by turning the wheels to full right in order to change the left fog light and vice versa. This way you can gain access to the two fender clips in the wheel well. Access is achieved within 1-2 mins. Take the clips out and one screw out from the bottom, then roll the cover out and you’ll see the fog lights bulb assembly. Replace the halogen bulb with the H11 LED one and before put back all together and do the same for the other fog lamp, test whether lights work!
