LED Interior Light Strips Installed on Honda Civic Foot Area

Not all vehicles come with original lights for every part of the vehicle, especially for the inside such as foot area lights or even side door lights. For those vehicles which did not come with those lights, you can easily add simple to install LED strips to provide ambient lighting within the cabin that is sure to draw attention.

Installed on this Honda Civic Si are our 12" LED foot area strips with 3M adhesive tape on the back which can be easily mounted to a flat surface within the cabin. These lights are available in a range of colors including Brilliant Red (shown), Ultra Blue, Xenon White, and Light Green; each strip contains 15-SMD LED chips to provide the power and are easily installed by connecting the positive and negative wires to any 12v power source inside the vehicle. The most common sources of power to light these strips up are the 12v ACC wire so that these lights stay on when the vehicle is on to act as ambient lights or the interior light fuse to power them up whenever the interior lights are on.

We also offer these same LED strips in the 24" size for larger applications which contain 30-SMD LED chips per strip instead of 15-SMD chips. These are also sold in pairs at a very affordable price that would not break the bank and still add a very updated look to your car.

LED Daytime Running Lights Upgraded on a Honda Civic Si

If you were to look at your rear view mirror during traffic, you would most likely see a sea of yellow lights behind you, but your eye will occasionally catch a glimpse of a bit of white in that yellow sea. Whether that white light is from the newer BMW, Audi, or Mercedes-Benz LED daytime running lights or perhaps even a Honda, it still catches your eye because of its unique look.

You are taking a look at our own employee’s Honda Civic Si with our 120-SMD 9005 LED bulbs being used in the daytime running lights. These set the car apart greatly from the traditional yellow color you see in day to day traffic. This modest upgrade is easy to do and instructions are provided on our website so that even the most inexperienced person can manage this install. All the components are plug and play and do not require modifications to the existing wires.

The daytime running lights for this particular car are also the high beams; unfortunately though, due to the way LED lights produce light, they will not be a suitable upgrade for the high beams. The high beams will still function and turn on like before, but the output the lights throw in front of the vehicle will not be as great. These LED lights do not project their light far enough to be safely used by themselves at night; however a simple HID conversion kit upgrade for the low beams and/or fog lights would be more than enough light at night. These would not be recommended for those who cherish and use their high beams often to see more at night, but as daytime running lights, these are a wonderful and simple upgrade to take advantage of.

If you wonder how to install these beautiful RGB LED strips, don’t worry! It takes about an hour to install everything and what you need is some automotive double sided tape, cutters and a longer wire that will be used as a "fish tool" to help you feed the wires in tight places. Apply strips of the double-sided tape on the back of the LED strips and mount the control module box in the engine bay, where you can easily take power – black wire goes to negative (-), thick red wire to positive (+), the thin red wire is the antenna and the yellow wire should be left absent. When you install the box module, tie some small weight on the "fish tool" and find a spot where you can safely feed the wires down to the underbody. Once you are ready, untie the weight, tie the strip harness and bring it up through the engine bay.

Continue with installing the LED ground effect lights to the underbody of the car. Find a place where you can apply a strip, clean it, peel the double-sided tape and firmly apply to the underbody, making sure you align the strip in the center. Repeat this process for the remaining LED lights and use zip ties for more securely fixing. Finally, connect the harnesses and you are good to go.
