How to Upgrade Mercedes W204 C-Class Stock Fog Lamps to the OEM LED Daytime Running Lights

This guide is for 2008-2010 Mercedes Benz W204 C Class to convert the stock sport front bumper’s halogen fog lights to the 2011-up LCI style LED daytime running lights. This installation would give your car that nice, crisp and signature LED daytime running lights look that the new Mercedes Benz C-class vehicles are famous for. However for this installation, please keep in mind that you have to remove the front bumper to perform this installation, and there is also some retrofit modification involved where you’d have to cut the stock bumper in order to fit the new LED daytime running lights. Because of this, we highly recommend professional installation.

1. There are three screws at the corners of the stock fog lamp that you’ll need to remove in order to take out the stock fog lamp bezel. After you do this, you can remove the front bumper.

2. You’ll need to cut out the original fog lamp bed with stock fog lamp outline in order to proceed. Use a cutting tool to cut around the edges of the opening.

Mercedes-Benz W204 C63 AMG with LED Eyelid Light Decoration

The parking lights are the small miniature lights that are also on with the low beam headlights at night, they serve as lights to be left on while parking (hence the name) and to provide positioning details of the car in the case of the headlight burning out. While they serve the same purpose one every vehicle, the names may differ from make to make; for example the Mercedes-Benz vehicles has them positioned on top of the headlights so it is called an “eyelid light”. Normally, these are regular incandescent halogen bulbs so they produce a yellow glow. This is an eye sore; especially for a Mercedes that comes with factory HID headlights which are bright white. Our LED replacement bulbs for the eyelids are the perfect solution to this problem.

The Mercedes W204 LED eyelid lights we carry are 100% plug and play so no modification is required for installation. The factory size for this W204 C63 AMG is a W5W, otherwise known as 2825/168/194; our 24-SMD 1210 T10 LED Replacement Bulbs are the perfect choice for this application. While these bulbs are slightly longer than the factory bulb so they may not fit in every housing, they fit perfectly in this Mercedes-Benz. These error free LED eyelid lights are very easy to install and works for many other Mercedes-Benz vehicles such as the 2005 E500, 2006 SLK350, and 2008 CLS500.

The built-in resistors on the LED bulb make these error free so they do not flicker or cause any error messages to appear on the dash to state that the bulb has burned out. The color is 6000K Xenon White so it is a perfect match for many of our other LED light. While these were tested on a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, it should also work for many other vehicles that can fit this and require error free bulbs. At 1.43” in length, these are about 1” longer than the traditional T10 bulb you would find on these vehicles so please make sure confirm these will inside the housing before purchasing.

Mercedes-Benz E350 Coupe with 25W CREE LED 921 Reverse Lights

On the tail lights of many European vehicles, the reverse light bulb is very small and is a tiny slit of clear lens surrounded by a sea of red. Many European vehicles follow this style of light and it’s only natural that the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E350 Coupe would also have this style. Aesthetically, this is very ideal as it is subtle and maintains the overall red appearance of the tail lights, but since the housing is so small, the light output is dim. This is why a high powered LED bulb would be ideal for these types of housings.

These Mercedes E350 LED reverse lights are rated at 25w and produce approximately 500 lumen for superior visibility. Each T15 (921) bulb uses five CREE XP-E R4 LED diodes; four on the side and one on top with a 3x optical lens for projection purposes. Thanks to its design, it is able to provide a 360 degree shine coverage of light while producing light projection making this ideal for this small housing. Larger housings may benefit from a flood type light, but these small reverse light housings do not need that. However, having all that power in a small housing that focuses the light creates an intense shine.
